Thomas E.
Joyner Jr.
Through the years, Thomas Joyner, Jr. has shepherded fundraising efforts by working closely with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and facilitating relationships with thousands of individual donors and dozens of corporations.
Joyner is the former president and Chief Executive Officer of the Tom Joyner Foundation, a 501c3, non-profit organization that raises money for HBCUs. Major corporate support has come from Denny’s, Toyota Financial Services, Allstate, Budweiser, Southwest Airlines, Ford Motor Company, Carnival Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines in support of the effort.

Joyner is also co-founder of REACH Media Inc., and hosts HBCUbiquity, a podcast with conversations around news and topics relevant to HBCU alumni and supporters. He currently serves on the board of the University of North Texas-Dallas Foundation. He also has served on the Advisory Board of the Alcorn State University School of Business and the Board of Trustees of Bennett College in Greensboro, NC. He has won a Distinguished Service Award from Philander Smith University in Little Rock, Arkansas and the Tougaloo College Soaring Eagle Award.
